This evening we begin a new series on the life of Elijah. Before we meet the prophet, we are taken into one of the darkest periods in Israel’s history. This passage reminds us that God is never defeated by the darkness of the age. When sin seems to triumph and truth appears forgotten, the Lord is still raising up His servants and accomplishing His purposes.
